Manager Final Examinations
Registrar/FAS Duties And Responsibilities: Directs and manages start of the term events (placement examinations and study card day activities twice yearly). Directs and manages 300 + final examinations (including 300+ out of sequence and 100+ in absentia exams twice yearly), accommodating 20,000 students. Directly supervises staff of two. Develops and maintains Access database to track final examination logistics (including room assignments, enrollment numbers, media needs, bluebook needs, out of sequence accommodations, and AEO accommodations). Implements faculty policy regarding the administration of final exams. Works to ensure that unit and office resources, including personnel and technology, are managed effectively and efficiently. Manages the delivery of HERS2 to own unit including training for staff. Manages the distribution of various publications: Courses of Instruction, Handbook for Students, GSAS Handbook, and Information for Faculty. Position reports to the Associate Registrar Courses, Scheduling, and Publications. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Experience in higher education setting necessary. Experience managing staff and operations. Additional Qualifications: 5 plus years of relevant work experience needed. Harvard College experience preferred. Excellent Access, Excel, and Microsoft office experience necessary. Strong attention to detail. Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. Event management skills a plus. Strong leadership, organizational, and planning skills needed to direct the unit and to effect change as unit moves to newer technologies. Commitment to high standard of customer service. Peak periods require significant overtime including weekend work during exam periods and registration activities. Additional Information: All formal offers will be made by FAS Human Resources.
