Lead Preschool Teacher

Position Available:  Preschool Lead Teacher

 

Children’s Village Child Care Center is looking for qualified preschool lead teachers. We are interested in candidates who are certified in Early Childhood Education.   We are able to offer an annual wage of $45,000 to teachers with ECE certification and experience working with young children.   A model program, Children's Village is a NAEYC accredited program and a PA Keystone Star 4A (highest rating) center.  We offer comprehensive services to a diverse population.  Services include: 

           - high quality educational services to young children and after school 

                support to school age children           

- Head Start Services; both part day and wrap around full day full year

    services

- PreK Counts Partner with the School District of Philadelphia

            -  Early Intervention and Parent Support Program

            -  Involved Parent Program.

We provide care for children from ages 13 months to 3rd grade.  Philadelphia Federation of Teachers Union represents Children’s Village staff.                       Benefits:

·          8 hour work day; includes one hour paid break

·          1.25 sick days per month

·          5 personal days per year

·          Vacation time:

o         Year 1:  10 days

o         Years 2, 3 and 4:  15 days

o         Years 5, 6, and 7:  20 days

o         Years 8 and after:  25 days

o         8 paid holidays

·          Keystone Direct Point of Service:  includes coverage for employee and dependents with a 3% premium co-payment.  Additionally, coverage for spouse is available with a 65% premium co-payment.  This benefit begins the first day of the first full month of employment.

·          Dental, vision, and prescription coverage through the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers for employee, their dependents and spouse.  3% co-payment is required.  Coverage begins after 5 full months of employment.          

·          Life Insurance equal to 1 and a half times salary.

·          Paid release time for approved training and educational leave.

·          Contribution (50%) towards membership in approved professional organization such as DVAEYC.

·          ERA (Education and Retention Awards from Keystone Stars) if applicable.

·          Participation in TEACH if eligible and approved.

 

 

Qualifications:

          B.S. or Associates degree in ECE, plus one year’s experience working with young childrenis required.  Certification in ECE preferred. Knowledge of NAEYC accreditation guidelines and Head Start performance standards a plus.   Bilingual a plus (Cantonese, Mandarin, Spanish)

 

Salary based on qualifications and expereince: $13.51-$21.63 an hour.  Applicants with ECE Certification and experience receive top hourly wage
