Inventory Analyst

With more than 30,000 employees based in 60 countries, we are a family of businesses that draws on common assets, processes and shares a common purpose: to help our customers live and learn.Pearson is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/V/D, and a member of E-Verify. * The Inventory Analyst supports the department manager by supervising employees, monitoring workflow, and reporting departmental data.* Supervisory responsibilities: No direct reports, but responsible for supervising temporary and full-time employees in the department.* Develop, use and maintain Oracle cycle count program and database.* Reconcile inventory discrepancies to determine causals, leading to corrective action recommendations.* Perform quality audits of warehouse functions, both system and manual, to determine accuracy of existing processes/procedures.* Report on weekly/monthly cycle count results.* Develop methods by which to identify excess/obsolete inventory that can be submitted for salvage authorization.* Develop and maintain inventory control transaction history to be used in determining growth and capabilities.* Document inventory control processes and procedures, and maintain that documentation. Documenting to include flow charting where applicable.* Create and maintain custom reporting as required for the inventory and transportation functions.* Develop/maintain historical tracking of various categories of inventory. Also have the capability to assign/allocate material in the warehouse to the respective programs that own it. Complete a quarterly detail pallet inventory for finance.* Manage all aspects of the Pearson recycling program, including volume(daily/monthly)and financial tracking/reporting.* Provide training where necessary on systems transactions, inventory control practices and proper manufacturing techniques. ' Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.* Production/resource planning experience preferred.* Possess a solid understanding of inventory control philosophies, material movement in a manufacturing environment and cycle count procedures.* Very competent with P.C. based software, at minimum Word, Excel, Visio, and Access.* Understanding of inventory control software; i.e. ORACLE and TSO.* Must be able to operate material handling equipment to perform audits, both internal and for external requirements.* Analytical skills critical, particularly when reviewing and analyzing inventory history.
