 Keywords: instructional developer, curriculum designer, curriculum developer, tech writer, technical writer,  We are working with our client in locating an Instructional Designer/Curriculum Developer to assist in development of instructional and reference materials for the client’s Engineers. The analysis and design phase of this project is largely completed and the training has been partially developed.  The training will be delivered to the Engineers, who are the SME’s. The new training will bring the information up-to-date, incorporate new policies and provide consistency between the 2 states where they are located.  After the training is created, it will be presented to a committee for approval. The committee may tweak or modify the training as needed.  In this role, you will: Interview engineers and superintendents to document policy issues Shadow current technicians in order to complete the task detailing of client-specific electric relay procedures Read and evaluate manufacturer's manuals and schematic diagrams to identify brand or model-specific procedures and test practices Identification of, and creation/manipulation of graphics needed to help trainees understand the relaying schemes used at high-voltage substations Create written and hands-on (troubleshooting) exams that will fully evaluate a trainee's understanding of the job.  (These tests must be defensible in court as arbitration cases can result if the union technicians do not feel that they have been treated fairly.)    Requirements: 3+ years of Instructional Design experience within a technical environment§ Preferred previous experience within the Utility industry and a very good understanding of basic electricity§ Previous experience creating training for Engineers and ability to interview and work with Engineers§ Ability to read and understand technical manufacture's manuals§ Ability to create materials that are defensible in court should a student fail Work samples  Start Date: ASAP Duration: 3-5 months Location: St. Louis, MO.
