Infant and Toddler Lead Teacher
Infant Toddler Lead Teacher Position opening for Building Blocks Preschool, Highland MI:
We are a child-directed, play based program focused on meeting the needs of the whole child.
The Early Childhood Development Program at
Building Blocks Preschool is seeking an energetic teacher who has experience in early childhood education and demonstrated leadership abilities. Collaborative team member, comfortable with documentation, strong communication skills, family interaction and a love of children is critical.
Experience with Reggio Emilia curricula is helpful. Undergraduate degree preferred, Associates in ECE is the minimum. Applicants must meet ALL State of Michigan child care licensing requirements for toddler lead caregivers as listed below. Applicants must be available Monday through Friday. This will be 30-35 hours per week. Please include a cover letter with your resume. Please include your education, specific early childhood classes, and past work experience.

General requirements : Demonstrated knowledge of teaching and activity methods used with Infant and Toddler aged children, materials/equipment used in group settings of young children; principles of child development and behavior of individual children; positive discipline and redirection techniques & interest in working with young children in a group care setting.
Technical requirements : Only applicants with the required credentials need apply.
• At least 4.5 CEUs in infant/toddler development and care practices OR 3 credit hours in infant/toddler development and care practices from an
accredited college or university.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education, child development, or a child-related field; OR
• Associate’s degree or higher in early childhood development or child development; OR
• Montessori credential with 480 hours of experience; OR
• Child development associate credential with 480 hours of experience; OR
• High school diploma/GED with 12 semester hours in early childhood development from an accredited college or university and 960 hours of
experience; OR
• High school diploma/GED with a combination of 12 semester hours in early childhood development and/or 18 CEUs to equal 180 clock hours and
1920 hours of experience; OR
• High school diploma/GED with a combination of 6 semester hours and/or 9 CEUs to equal 90 clock hours and 3840 hours of experience
