Position Description
Job Title: Graphic Designer (Print and Web Design)
Location: Reston, VA
Reports to: Production Manager
Position Summary:
This position produces print and web projects such as slide presentations, print layouts for monographs/books, journal ads, invitations, posters, collateral marketing material and web graphics including logos, buttons and Flash banners. The incumbent also creates and maintains graphics used to support web-based medical content on a PC/Windows platform.
Key Duties: Creates and maintains graphics used to support print and web-based medical content including bar charts, schematics, graphs, etc. Creates and maintains graphical elements for clinicaloptions.com web site, including logos, banners, buttons, etc.Designs and implements Flash tools used to enhance medical content. Designs and implements advertising banners for medical programs in Flash.Layouts and graphics for print deliverables as needed.Documents design specifications and branding guidelines.Performs searches for imagesAny other tasks as required in support of production activities as deemed appropriate by Production Manager.
Qualifications: 1+ years design and production experience Skill in the use of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash), QuarkXPress, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint), and HTML on a PC/Windows platform.FTP familiarity and production environment experience is a plus.Associates or Bachelors degree in Design or related field.Ability to learn quickly; positive attitude; attention to detail.Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage time.Ability to work under pressure without sacrificing quality.Full time position but must be willing to work occasional evening and weekend hours Some travel required.
