POSITION:    Full-Time Faculty(Day/Evening) – Medical Assisting Program

LOCATION:    Rochester Market

REPORTS TO:  Dean of Instruction

    Academic Program Director

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:  Serves as an instructor for the Medical Assisting Program and works closely with the MA Program Director, assisting the college in developing a growing, quality program.

 

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide instruction between 15 – 21 contact hours per week in the Medical Assisting program.

• Foster academic excellence in teaching and learning.

• Adhere to and uphold all established operational policies and procedures.

•   Attend required college functions including staff meetings, in-service training, graduation, and

  special activities.

• Remain current in teaching field through professional development.

•   Utilize active learning (facilitation), authentic assessment, and portfolio assignments to maintain a challenging learning

  environment for students.

•  Assist in monitoring student internships and in recruiting internship sites.

· Participate in campus-wide initiative in support of recruitment, retention, and graduation goals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•   Master’s degree required

· RN, MT or CMA preferred.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

•   Two or more years clinical or laboratory experience in a healthcare setting.

• Classroom or teaching experience preferred.

•   Ability to interact and work effectively with faculty, staff and students.

•   Leadership, integrity, problem solving and strong communication skills.
