Forklift Operator - Evening Shift (4pm-12am)

The Rockefeller University, a world-renowned center for research and graduate education in the biomedical sciences, seeks a Forklift Operator - Evening Shift (4pm-12am) to join Plant Operations. Under the supervision of the evening shift supervisor, will use the forklift to load large open containers, and perform various custodial duties to maintain assigned area in a clean and orderly fashion. Will inspect the forklift at the start of each shift and make a written report as to its condition, inform the supervisor of any operating problems with the forklift immediately, follow all training instructions for the forklift, use the forklift to move heavy equipment, pack open box container and cardboard containers efficiently to maximize space, sort trash dumpster, break down cardboard and place it in recycling containers, prepare recycling for pick up, keep the outside entrance areas clean, clean the dock and plaza areas, assume the duties of the compact operator in his/her absence, follow all safety rules, and perform any related duties as assigned. High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have forklift operator certification, experience of at least one year on a forklift in an industrial area, and posses excellent written and oral skills needed to prepare reports. Must be able to lift, bend, and stand frequently, carry, push, and pull, have visual and auditory acuity, manual dexterity to manipulate cleaning equipment, field of vision and color vision, and be able to work inside and outside.
