Financial Aid Officer/ Financial Aid Planning Analyst 

Primary responsibilities are meeting and counseling students on Financial Aid options available to them; assist in the processing of Title IV, alternative loan funds; and following up with students on any open issues relating to their Financial Aid Package.  Develop, negotiate and finalize student financial plans consistent with financial planning policies and procedures and with Federal/State regulations for awarding aid. Work closely with new, continuing and re-entry students and their families to ensure the plan and re-plan continue to best meet the families’ needs. Counsel students on all acceptances and other matters related directly to the student financial plan. Additional responsibilities include Financial Aid management Reporting and Analysis. Possible hours: Mon-Fri 8 am -7 pm and at least one Saturday a month

Key Job Elements:Provide detailed information to students on Title IV, alternative loans, and in school payment options available to them. Work with students to develop budgets that will meet their cost of education. Follow up on open issues and missing documents that prevent complete Financial Aid Packaging. Prepare and analyze Financial Aid management reports. Insure financial aid packaging and repackaging is completed in a timely and accurate manner to help minimize past dues and bad debt. Work closely with the Admissions department in the enrollment and packaging process for new students. Help develop and maintain student Financial Aid policies and procedures to insure compliance to company standards (including Sarbanes-Oxley) and internal controls.

Additional ResponsibilitiesPost all payments in banner and close daily bank sessions Track and update all FWS payments made to student Process Title IV returns Contact student with outstanding refund checks according to institutional policy Invoice students receiving tuition reimbursement from their employers

Position Requirements:Financial Aid experience 1 to 2 years Understanding of Title IV rules and funds available to students Understanding Alternative Loan eligibility based on credit worthiness. Financial Planning and Consultation experience preferred Campus 2000 Software experience preferred Superior Customer Service Skills Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
