Financial Aid Information Processor

 

Responsible for electronically processing loan applications and guarantees, financial aid applications, Pell payment data, wire transfers, and other financial aid information.  Also responsible for verifying students’ eligibility for FFELP loan funds, transferring funds to schools, and maintaining updated data for the loan default management program.

 

KEY JOB ELEMENTS

1. Process loan applications and guarantees electronically.

2. Process FAFSAs, ISIRs and ISIR corrections electronically.

3. Process Pell Payment data electronically.

4. Reconcile annual Pell payments.

5. Process SSCR data electronically.

6. Process, return and reconcile FFELP loan funds.

7. Support default management function.

8. Assist in the processing of refunds.

9. Special projects, as assigned.

 

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

• Associate Degree or equivalent experience

• Comfort in a computing environment; high level of proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software;

• Proven ability to learn new software packages with minimal support;

• Must be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving skills;

• Ability to complete all work in a timely manner in accordance with federal regulations;

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.

 

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree;

• Experience in financial aid;

• Proficiency in Microsoft software (Excel and MSWord); experience with CARS system and Department of Education software;

• Knowledge of Title IV regulations relating to student loan processing.
