Full-Time Faculty Positions

The following tenure-track positions for Assistant Professors are available for August 2009, pending budget approval.

 

Saint Peter’s College, a Catholic, Jesuit Institution, is located in Jersey City, New Jersey. It has an undergraduate enrollment of approximately 2000 full-time students, 400 part-time students, and a graduate enrollment of over 700 students. The usual teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The following tenure-track positions for Assistant Professors are available for August 2009. A doctoral degree in an appropriate field is required for all positions as is demonstrated success or strong potential in teaching, research, scholarship, and service to the college is required. Biology – responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Anatomy and Physiology for majors and nursing students, General Biology, as well as core courses for non-majors. Research with students is encouraged.

 

Business Administration – Responsibilities include teaching introductory and upper division courses in International Management and Marketing.

 

Chemistry – responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in Biochemistry and Organic Chemistry, as well as chemistry for nursing students. Specialty in Nucleic acid chemistry preferable.

 

Criminal Justice – Responsibilities include undergraduate teaching in criminal justice theory and practical application. Courses may include Terrorism, Research Techniques and Statistical Analysis, Emergency Management Response, Gangs and Organized Crime, Organizational Behavioral Management, and Crime and Homicide Investigation.

 

Education – Responsibilities include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Undergraduate courses include High School Curriculum and Organization and Tests and Measurements (Assessment). At the graduate level, courses will include Internships and Historical and Philosophical Foundations of Education. Experience in secondary administration preferred.

 

Adjunct Faculty Positions

Adjunct faculty are needed to teach undergraduate courses in Accounting, Africana Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Composition, Modern Language, Philosophy, and Sociology.

 

A minimum of a Master’s Degree in the appropriate field is required.

 

Accounting/Business Law - Introductory courses in Accounting and Business Law

 

Africana Studies - Introductory course in Contemporary Issues in Africa

 

Biology - General Biology labs, Nursing Anatomy and Physiology Labs, Introductory courses for non-science majors (Science Literacy, Heredity, Contemporary Topics)

 

Chemistry - General Chemistry Labs, Chemistry for Nursing Students, and non-science major courses.

 

Composition - Introductory courses in Writing.

 

Modern Language - Introductory course in Arabic

 

Philosophy - Introduction to Philosophy, History of Philosophy, and Ethics.

 

Sociology - Introduction to Sociology, Contemporary Cities and some electives.
