Position Description:
Full time Accounting, Cost Accounting and Accounting Information Systems instructor in the Business Administration Department. Responsible for the teaching and curriculum development of accounting courses on the Charlestown and Chelsea campuses.
Specific Duties:
· Teach Accounting, Cost Accounting and Accounting Information Systems courses on the Charlestown and Chelsea campuses.
· Evaluate student performance in the classroom.
· Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students’ critical thinking skills and enhance understanding.
· Develop instructional material consistent with course objectives.
· Participate in determining appropriate goals and objectives of accounting courses and assist in developing course standards.Use new technologies in the classroom, as appropriate, to facilitate learning.
· Maintain expertise and currency in area of teaching responsibility.
· Comply with all duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• M.B.A. or M.S. in Accounting; CPA preferred.
• Experience in the accounting profession, including taxation and tax preparation
• Proven experience in the use of computerized accounting and tax software.
• Prior college teaching experience.
• Ability to establish liaisons and/or maintain ongoing partnership with internal and external constituents.
• Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
• Experience in curriculum development and learning outcomes assessment.
Salary Range: $44,000.00 - $55,000.00 Depending Upon Qualifications
