Externship Coordinator

Assist in the development of sufficient externship sites to support the school’s programs and the student population therein. The required number of sites will be determined by the President/Executive Director. Coordinate the initiation, approval and signing of sufficient affiliation agreements in support of programmatic needs. Work closely with the Registrar to ensure accurate, up-to-date attendance timesheets and performance evaluation records. Manage all externship initiatives, and resolve student extern issues in a timely manner. Maintain adequate records to effectively document the various aspects of the position. Facilitate communication between the Career Services and Education Departments. Present Externship and Site Assignment orientation workshops. Maintain confidentiality when working with students’ records and “outside” personnel. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Specific Skills: Must be able to operate a personal computer and related peripheral equipment. Must be experienced in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. Must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking the English language. Must be willing and able to travel, as needed. Qualification: Minimum of three (3) years experience as a Medical Assistant and/or Medical Biller and Coder (Certification preferred) Meet all State and Accreditation requirements as a “qualified instructor” for the program(s) he/she is coordinating. Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of school policies and compliance requirements as they pertain to Externship.
