Unique public housing-based program with 24-year history of bringing schools, parents and local employers together in support of 130 teens annually seeks energetic, experienced professional to maintain and expand program relationships with local employers who serve as work-based mentors to program participants. The Work Force consists of a 5-year long, highly structured series of work- and community-based learning experiences which assist youth to attain the related goals of education achievement and economic mobility. The Employment Partnership Coordinator manages the jobs/mentorship component of the program.

The Employment Partnership Coordinator will: develop work/mentorship sites; develop and conduct workshops to orient employer-mentors and teach them mentorship skills; coordinate job placement activities; work with Work Force Teacher/Counselors to resolve work site problems;Â provide career counseling;Â assist in the development of curriculum and teach financial literacy and work readiness workshops; plan and implement career fairs, field trips and related events; solicit businesses to participate in scholarship program; and coordinate preparation of participant payroll.

Candidates must possess: at least a B.A. in social work, education, school guidance counseling or a related field; demonstrated experience in delivery of youth services, especially in mentorship programming, to a low-income, multi-cultural population; experience in community outreach or marketing/sales; excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills; and the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with adolescents, their parents, school personnel, businesspeople and other community-based agencies.
