Elementary Afterschool Program seeks fun, creative teachers

The Mason-Rice Afterschool Program (MRASP) isseeking fun, enthusiastic, afterschool teachers. MRASP provides a high qualityafterschool program for K - 5th graders - offering fun, creativity, and theopportunity to develop and grow.

 

We are seeking applicants with

·Experience working with K- 5th graders in a structured setting (afterschool and/or camp experience wouldbe great)

·Enthusiasm for workingwith children

·A desire to make adifference for children and families

·A sense of humor!

·5 day (Monday 2:30-6;Tuesday 10:30-6; Wednesday 2:30-6; Thursday 2:00-6; Friday 2:30-6);

·4 day(Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday)

·2 day (Tuesday/Thursday)

About MRASP

The Mason-Rice Afterschool Program is a private,non-profit parent cooperative organization serving school-age children since1980. The purpose of MRASP is to provide high quality child care and to supportfamilies. The main objectives of the program are: 1. To provide a safe,nurturing, comfortable environment for children with a neighborhood-likeatmosphere of mixed age groups. 2. To provide comprehensive programming that includesdiverse activities for recreation, learning, exploration, growth, and justplain fun! Programming includes clubs, special events, field trips, andactivities in art, crafts, sports, games, science, music, drama, dance, etc. 3.To provide the option of "hang-out-time" - time to relax, read a bookalone, play checkers, chat with friends, etc. With sometimes hectic schedulesof school, afterschool, soccer, Scouts, etc., this unstructured time isessential to the children. 4. To promote the social and emotional developmentof the children - to help them gain self-confidence, sense of responsibility,cooperation, self esteem, positive relationships, decision-making ability, andindependence. 5. To promote an environment that celebrates diversity and respectsindividual differences.
