DeVry University seeksqualified candidates for the position of
Educational Representative
in the South Florida region.
Under the supervision of the Florida Director of Admissions, this position assists prospective students with enrollment into DeVry’s academic programs. This position assists prospective students, typically high school students preparing to graduate, through established and self-generated leads. Through initiating and developing relationships with candidates throughout the region, the Educational Advisor is responsible for all phases of the student admissions process from the personal interview to qualifying them for enrollment in a DeVry education and assisting them throughout the enrollment and registration process.
Essential functions of this position include:
- Contacts prospective students to screen initial questions and schedules interviews at their home or on campus
- Conducts personal interviews to qualify candidates and to explain DeVry’s academic programs and DeVry’s admissions requirements
- Carefully assesses all prospective students to ensure that they have the student potential, traits, characteristics, and financial means to remain enrolled until graduation
- Develops a comprehensive understanding of DeVry’s curriculum to explain all course offerings and to select a program which best fits each student’s educational objectives and goals
- Initiates the application process for qualified students and assists in this process with each applicant through the completion of registration
- Ensures that satisfactory enrollment documents are completed, including all application documents, proof of education, test scores, and transcripts
- Fully understands educational financing sources to help explain students’ financing and funding options
- Acts in a liaison capacity with other departments to ensure that the Department of Enrollment Management effectively interacts with all areas affecting student enrollments
- Solicits referrals from prospective candidates to generate referrals - Participates as a member of the Department of Enrollment Management by understanding team dynamics, rules, objectives and principles
- Utilizes competent administrative skills by completing enrollment tasks on time and within budget; maintains thorough enrollment management records, and completes reports when needed and on time
Qualifications for this position include:
· A bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years sales and managerial experience is strongly preferred
· Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required
· Must possess refined persuasive skills and must understand and interpret human behavior
· Must be a competent administrator and self-starter with the capacity to work with little supervision
· Must have the maturity and commitment to exercise sound judgment and make ethical decisions
· Impeccable integrity and solid business acumen
· Fully proficient in the use of personal computers and MS Office Suite
· This position requires extensive use of the telephone and involves evening and weekend work
