Director of Student Life (Regular FT)

**Seeking candidates with experience in managing intercollegiate athletics and intramural sports**

 

General Summary:
Direct the campus student development program including general activities, cultural development, publications, personal physical fitness, and sports.

 

Job Specifications:

Bachelor's Degree in related field (Master's Degree preferred in related field such as student personnel or counseling) and minimum three years related experience in student activities; excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

Job Duties:

1. Supervise the student life office and provide for staffing and supplies.

 2. Schedule and participate in staff meetings and planning sessions; assess and respond to student/campus needs; and ensure activities complement general student services.

 3. Prepare, recommend, and administer the student life budget; oversee expenditures; account for funds reserved and spent; and ensure expenses comply with College policy.

 4. Develop the student activities calendar for each semester and participate with the student program board for calendar approval and implementation.

 5. Serve as advisor to the student program board; recruit and train student members; provide information for decision making; resolve problems and receive complaints; and provide general direction.

 6. Serve as advisor for student organizations; assist with budget preparations and related activities; attend meetings; provide advice; and resolve related problems.

 7. Participate in developing and publishing the student activities brochure, handbook, newspaper, and other literature.

 8. Plan and conduct student orientations; coordinate with other student services and campus staff; assess effectiveness; and plan future improvements.

 9. Provide direction, support, and guidance to the campus athletic and alumni coordinators.

10. Participate in planning and implementing programs provided by the student services division.

11. Serve on appropriate campus and College committees.

12. Prepare and submit monthly reports and operating and capital budgets.

13. Coordinate a comprehensive program of student development experiences with all student service departments systemwide.

14. Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

$43,644.00
