RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct analyses of all marketing and advertising initiatives
Assess return on investment
Report on and assist in the interpretation of cost data for the management team and senior management
Drive the annual budgeting and semi-annual forecasting process within the Marketing department
Develop long range financial planning and project-level variance reporting processes
Assisting Senior and Team management in further refining department metrics, report, models, and processes
Drive the marketing organization to meet key financial targets and measure progress toward those targets
Monitors and drives the annual budgeting and semi-annual forecasting process for all Marketing department expenditures and initiatives across the organization
Prepares return on investment analyses on marketing and advertising initiatives
Tracks and reports costs against budget
Drives month-end P&L budget-to-actual variance analysis for the Marketing department
Supervise and mentor the Marketing Accounting Specialist in providing invoice processing and cost tracking support for the Marketing department
Reports on monthly, quarterly and annual marketing spend
Designs and maintains ongoing budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning and variance reporting processes and ensures alignment with the finance team
Assists team management in further refining department metrics, reports, models, and processes
Serves as the financial point of contact for the Marketing team
Prepares financial presentations on spending and proposed projects to present to senior management and the Board
Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required
Minimum of 7 years experience in a statistical and/or accounting environment with progressive experience in dealing with general ledger and P&L reporting
Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products, with an emphasis on Excel and Access
Working knowledge of Cognos and Crystal reports
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated, successful problem-solving and decision-making skills with strong attention to detail
Self-motivator who maintains confidentiality and exhibits a professional demeanor
Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to explain and interpret financial data and concepts
