Description:NYU's Office of University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) has an exciting opportunity for an talented fundraiser at the College of Nursing. As the lead fundraiser, this person will not only cultivate prospects and solicit annual fund and major gifts, but this position will also be a key fundraiser for the building campaign for the College, which will be located in the heart of NYU's health-science corridor on First Avenue. The successful candidate should be a strategic self-starter who enjoys calling on donors and prospects, has a proven record of success in fundraising, and demonstrates a passion for Healthcare and the field of Nursing.The successful candidate will: --Serve as an integral member of the College of Nursing's leadership team as a key fundraising resource for the Dean; --Manage fundraising appointments for the Dean;--Manage his/her own fundraising portfolio of prospects; focusing on relationship building and appointment setting (4-6 per week) with key prospects; soliciting annual fund gifts, major gifts and capital gifts;--Manage key volunteers and donors of the NYU College of Nursing fundraising Council.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required and Master's Degree preferred. 5 years professional level experience in fundraising and managing a portfolio of prospects required. Also required: excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to meet fundraising goals and effectively interact with donors and prospects; ability to take initiative and collaborate with others; and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and desktop publishing software applications. Experience in an academic environment and with specialized fundraising databases preferred.
