Director of Child Care
Position: The Wesley Child Development Center [WCDC] seeks an experienced  Director for its year-round, full time and part time programs. WCDC accepts children from 8 weeks through pre-kindergarten.  The Center is located in Downtown Orlando at the First Methodist Church of Orlando. www.fumc-orl.org The WCDC Director is responsible for overall operation of the Center under the supervision of the Director of Children’s Ministries and the WCDC Council and is supported by an Assistant Director.Â

Education & Licensing Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in early childhood education or related field. Has completed forty (40) hour Introduction to Child Care Training Course, has director credential, and Child Development Associate Degree (CDA) National. The Director must have completed the Emergent Literacy Course (ECE) and commits to pursing training in ECE.

Experience: Administrative experience managing people, resources and programs concerning children. At least one year experience as on site director is required. A minimum of two (2) years classroom experience is preferred.Â

Additional qualification: Wesley Child Development Center is a ministry of the First United Methodist Church of Orlando. As such, the Director must be of Christian faith and will serve as a Christian spiritual champion for the children enrolled at the Center, their families and for the Center staff. The Director must manifest a love and concern for children.Â
