Description:Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities:The Director of Admissions is responsible for the management of the overall performance of the team, along with being the coach, a motivator and mentor of the 56-person team, (50 Admissions Advisors, 3 Associate Director of Admissions, 1 Admissions Manager, and 2 Senior Admissions Coordinators). The goal of the DOA is to instill a sense of team responsibility, team leadership and ultimately improve the student start rate through quality customer service, team performance and follow up. An integral part of the DOA position is to coach the ADOA and AM, and ensure that the required metrics are achieved and ensure proper skill development of the entire team.Typical activities for a Director of Admissions include:- Manage the day-to-day performance of the team, and the Associate Directors of Admissions- Strategic partnership with Academic team in implementing process and training updates- Pre-approvals on files for submission to the Deans by program - Ensure your team meet their established recruiting cycle goals- Analyze your teams statistics to detect positive/negative performance trends- Identify team members who are not performing at the expected levels of quality and quantity to meet their goals- In concert with your Associate Directors of Admissions, when necessary, initiate a plan, administer and monitor progress of Admissions Advisors placed in warning or probationary status due to poor performance. - Follow established procedures if the termination of an employee is warranted- Provide supplemental training for Advisors based on their statistics- Work individually with all advisors and Associate Directors of Admission to increase the departments overall conversion performance- Provide ongoing management training for Associate Directors of Admissions - Ensure the team is appropriately staffed by conducting interviews for hire of prospective Admissions Advisors/Associate Directors of Admission- Oversee lead distribution to Advisors to ensure the equal distribution of student information forms- Work in harmony with the Marketing Department to ensure lead flow is sufficient to meet our needs- Assist the Executive Director of Admissions/Senior Director of Admissions with special projects- Preparation of annual performance reviews for the Admissions Advisors and all ancillary management and support positions assigned to the team.- Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director of Admissions/Senior Director of Admissions Measurement of Success:Director of Admissions will be evaluated based on (a) ability of individuals and team to meet established performance metrics; (b) ability to produce daily & weekly team tracking reports on time and accurately (c) ability to coach, train and use coaching tools provided during training; (d) ability to work effectively by leading a team, both within and across Kaplan University departments; (e) team retention; and (f) attitude and enthusiasm.Qualifications:Experience Required:- Bachelors degree required/Masters degree preferred - Minimum of 12 months experience as an Associate Director of Admissions or equivalent experience- Work experience must demonstrate success in managing mid to large sized Sales or Customer Service teams - Positive support regarding managerial decisions- Verifiable success in previous managerial positions- Aggregate goal accomplished for current year- Product and procedural knowledge- Capable of accomplishing multiple tasks within specific periods of timePosition Requirements /Scope of the Job/ Skills Required:- Must be able to work at least three evenings per week and periodic weekends if necessary- Ability to answer complicated Admissions questions accurately and in detail- Ability to deliver outstanding customer service by telephone, e-mail, and other mediaSalary/Benefits: Salary commensurate with experienceBenefits beginning day one include: - Medical (including a Vision Discount Plan), and Dental coverage - 401(k) Savings Plan participation - Health and Dependent Care Spending Accounts - Life and Accidental Death Insurance - Legal and Financial ServicesJob Location: Chicago, ILJob Number: RUSAKAP4255-617921Company URL: http://www.kaplan.eduCompany Profile:Kaplan University is an institution of higher learning dedicated to providing innovative undergraduate, graduate, and continuing professional education.
