DIRECTOR MARKETING SERVICES

 

University Enterprises, Inc. is a dynamic and innovative California 501 (C3) non-profit corporation on the campus of California State University, Sacramento. As a campus auxiliary UEI creates and manages an array of programs and retail services, which support and strengthen the Sacramento State mission of teaching, scholarship and public service. University Enterprises, Inc. serves the campus by shaping its growth and activities to meet the evolving needs of the University and the community.

 

As part of University Enterprises, the Marketing Services department is positioned to provide strategic communication, public relations, and marketing support for UEI’s project directors and departments. The department functions as a vehicle for comprehensive communication by providing innovative services that include graphic design, typesetting, editing, proofing, copying and printing procurement. Staffed with knowledgeable service representatives, creative print and web designers, and experienced print buyers, we are equipped to take on a wide variety of jobs such as full color publications, web site creation, signage, photocopying, and more.

 

As Director, Marketing Services, the position directs, manages, plans, organizes, and supervises the Marketing and Public Relations function of University Enterprises, Inc.  The division includes Graphic Design, Web Marketing, and the Copy Graphics Center.  As the administrator of the University Enterprises Indicia Agreement, this position represents the interests of the University’s various brands and trademarks, seeks to expand the market audiences and commercial applications of the brands, and protects the integrity of the intellectual property portfolio.

The position reports directly to and receives general direction from the Executive Director.  Reporting directly to the position are the Marketing Services Graphic Designers, Graphic Design interns, the Web Marketing Coordinator, and the Manager Copy Graphics.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS (include but are not limited to):

Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business or equivalent experience. 

Substantial knowledge of principles, practices, methods, techniques, and procedures for marketing, advertising, public and media relations, and public affairs.

Professional experience in the graphic design field with extensive knowledge of graphic design techniques and principles: skilled in design, typography, layout and preparing complex prepress files. 

Experience with computer systems and software packages related to graphic design.

Experience in publication development and preparation, and research methods.

Demonstrated experience in directing and overseeing the preparation of publications, brochures, printed materials, and other communication mechanisms.
