Castleton State College, Department of Mathematics seeks applications for a tenure-track position with a start date of August 2009. Candidates for this position will teach courses for majors and non-majors, including courses in the calculus sequence and in the candidate's area of specialization. Candidates for this position should have completed or anticipate the completion of a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or Applied Mathematics.

Responsibilities will include teaching and advising in the undergraduate program and contributing to college initiatives. Castleton places a special value on the teaching role of its faculty and candidates for this position will be evaluated principally on the basis of their potential to be outstanding teachers. We are particularly interested in applications from candidates interested in promoting secondary and elementary mathematics education, undergraduate research, and civic engagement. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues are also essential criteria. Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience.
