SUNY Ulster is located in the heart of the New York State’s beautiful Hudson Valley where the magnificent Catskill Mountains border the scenic Hudson River. The College is located in the village of Stone Ridge, which rivals nearby Woodstock for its vibrant cultural scene and historical charm. SUNY Ulster welcomes applicants for the following position preferably beginning January 2009:DEAN OF ACADEMIC AFFAIRSThe Dean of Academic Affairs reports to the President and is responsible for the development and coordination of the instructional program at SUNY Ulster.The Dean of Academic Affairs provides dynamic and strategic leadership for academic planning, curriculum studies, course development, andprofessional growth and development. Other activities include preparation of semester schedules, assignment of faculty class loads, recruitment and orientation of new faculty and oversight of the Library, Institutional Research and Registrar’s Office. Evidence of a collaborative leadership style and a willingness to assist the President with the daily operations of the college are essential.The ideal candidate must have substantial community college teaching and administrative experience, excellent communication and leadershipskills, and a strong understanding of current and emerging instructionaltechnologies. A Ph.D. or similar advanced degree is preferred.
