Position Summary
The Industrial Relations Section (IRS) is looking for two qualified entry level Data Analysts for a one year renewable term position.
The successful candidates will assist a group of faculty members in all aspects of their research. He or she will be expected to assemble and manage data sets, process and analyze survey and census data, and assist faculty members in the design, implementation, and management of surveys. In addition, he or she will be expected to write summaries of research, perform literature searches and reviews, and post and retrieve information from the Web. Additional duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
Minimum BA/BS degree in a social science discipline such as Economics, Sociology, etc.;
Excellent research and writing skills;
Knowledge of statistics/econometrics;
Knowledge of unix or linux is desirable;
Knowledge of at least one statistical package, including STATA, SAS or SPSS;
Knowledge of standard internet tools and HTML is desirable;
Familiarity with standard social science or education-related data sources is desirable.
The candidate should be well-organized, attentive to detail, able to respond to deadlines in a timely fashion, and to work independently.
