Credit & Collections Manager
Responsible for accurately maintaining, analyzing and collecting the balances of out of school students from various assigned schools and managing the collection staff. Knowledge of skip tracing strategies/techniques associated with locating students that have been delinquent on student loans. Incumbent must assure that the South University philosophy: quality service to clients, development, growth, involvement and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion, is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Key Job Elements:
Manage the overall monthly reporting and statistical information needed to assist management and support changes in collection strategiesMonitor student account balances, ensure all collection policies and procedures are maintained and perform weekly analysis of receivables based on the most recent month-end sourceManage out-of-school and regular receivables and pursue delinquent payments while reducing risk to the schoolAssist management in special receivable analysis, student processing evaluations and audit preparationsSupervise the day-to-day responsibilities of Collections Assistant(s) and Default Management DepartmentInteracts with collection agencies regarding any questions and requests. Move files as neededHire and review personnelCheck cohort loans for status and update weeklyPrepare legal suits and attend court proceedings as necessaryFile all bankruptciesHandle cohort challenges for Federal LoansPrepare updated information weekly and forwards at month-end to Mr. South and EDMCManages work flow for staff
Knowledge3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in credit and collections, customer service, and computer operation Personal computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database experience requiredBachelor’s Degree requiredManagement experience preferredSkillsExcellent communication skills Attention to detail, ability to maintain accurate recordsOutstanding ability to prioritize tasks and delegate as required
