About the Position
The department of Television, Radio, Film and Theatre (TVRFT) is a performance and production department based on scholarship and the critical study of the influence of the entertainment and information media on society. We are a modern program emphasizing both content and understanding of traditional stage, television, radio, film and the Internet.

Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Coordinator of Production will develop, negotiate, and coordinate all film, video and theatre productions for the Department of Television, Radio, Film and Theatre. Working independently under limited supervision the Coordinator is responsible for the actual film and theatre production and coordination on a project-by-project basis and is responsible for the day-to-day technical operation of the theatre spaces and stages.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Plan, manage and promote the film productions and theatre season.
- Create and manage budgets for each theatre and film production.
- Raise funds from outside sources to supplement productions.
- Manage the creative process for each production.
- Recruit outside professionals for film and theatre productions.
- Write and propose grants, provide direction and stewardship of grants awarded.
- Acquire the rights to film and projects with economic and educational potential.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with distributors for film projects.
- Work lead for 3 Performing Arts Technicians.

Education and Experience
We require a bachelor's degree in the field of Theatre and Film Production or equivalent training and experience plus four years of demonstrated administrative work experience in Theatre and Film Production. Evidence of production of feature films with Producer's credit is also required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of applying extensive production management expertise to complex program and administrative specialties, including pertinent laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in and advanced knowledge of the principles, problems, and methods of public and business administration and operational and fiscal management.
- Expertise in administrative survey techniques, operations and systems analysis, statistical and research methods, and the ability to interpret and evaluate results to develop sound conclusions and recommend new or revised policies.
- Strong oral communication skills; must possess excellent customer service and public relations skills.
- Ability to provide program leadership of a strategic nature through program planning activities and the analysis, development, and evaluation of highly complex program with broad impact.

The physical demands of this position are the ability to lift 50 pounds, maneuver in and around set units with stairs and step units and perform work in often noisy and crowded environments. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individual with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The work environment for this position would include typical theatres, film sound stages and locations that are often dimly lit as well as very bright. The environment may also include loud music, loud sound effects and the use of explosives, gunfire, strobe lighting and smoke or fog effects.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree preferred.
