Configuration Management Engineer II

The College Board, a national educational organization, is conducting a search a Configuration Management Engineer.  There are two positions open, one with a focus on Data Warehousing and on with a JAVA focus. The Configuration Management Engineer - II will assist in the Process Engineering as well as the implementation and enforcement of Configuration Management procedures. The CME – II will assist in the initial creation of VOBs, schemas, branches and integration projects.  The CME - II will have a strong understanding of software development and related procedures. This individual will also be responsible for the hands on building and deployment activities of software packages to include Product level release management, will conduct code audits and perform maintenance of deploy and deliver scripts.  The CME – II will assist and mentor CME – I team member in their daily activities and responsibilities.

 

ResponsibilitiesEnd user tool support for Rational Suite clients (Clear Quest, Test Manager, Req Pro, Rose and Clear Case) where applicable.Assist in definition, implementation and support of version control strategy (e.g. VOB creation, custom configurations, branching, baselining, merging)Define and support Change Control system implementation where neededDefine and support Requirements Management strategy (e.g. roles and permissions, document types, requirement types)Perform training sessions for Rational Tools Develop, document and promote CM best practicesResearch and implement process improvement and automationEstablish and maintain good working relationship with project management, development, QA and infrastructure support teamsAssist in definition, implementation and support of change control strategyImplements and manages systematic packaging and deployment of product releases.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related field or equivalent work experience is required.  Additional qualifications include:Minimum 3 years software lifecycle experience3 - 4 years working in a software development environmentExperience with Unix/Windows, min 3 yearsExperience with Rational Tool suite – Test Manager, ReqPro, Clear Case, Clear Quest, Rose, min 2 – 3 yearsStrong technical foundation, a proven track record in delivering high quality work, software development experienceExperience with techniques in problem identification, documentation, resolution, and testingStrong problem solving and analytic skillsAbility to complete deliverables by the requested deadlinesExceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)Ability to work without direct guidance/supervision
