CULINARY ARTS COLLEGE - MANAGER OF STUDENT SUPPORT & SUCCESS Job Description The Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago (CHIC) is the Midwest’s largest culinary arts college. We offer Culinary Arts and Baking & Patisserie Associate’s degrees to students seeking careers in the hospitality industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Culinary professional for a key role related to student success. Working closely with other administration and faculty members, you will closely monitor and assist students, finding resources and providing guidance to improve student success in all phases of school experience.CULINARY ARTS COLLEGE – MANAGER OF STUDENT SUPPORT & SUCCESSResponsibilities: Work closely with Student Accounts, Tuition Planning, Career Services, Faculty and other departments to ensure students are able to successfully learn, complete programs, pay tuition, etc. Monitor students’ academic progress and provide tutoring and additional practical experience needed, i.e. note taking, personal finance, etc. Organize and participate in “stitch-in” activities for students to motivate students to finish their degree programs. Create and maintain files for students required to maintain academic progress reports. Meet with students and other departments as necessary to identify barriers to student success and create and implement solutions to drive student success. Work directly with students regarding records, graduation and grades to include interpretation of regulations, policies and procedures. Coordinate monthly professional, networking and other workshops to support students successfully completing the program. Provide routine academic advisement to students. Proactively monitor attendance throughout entire program. Attempt immediate contact with absent students. Provide reports and statistical information to department heads as needed.Qualified candidates will possess: Associate degree in Culinary Arts required; BS/BA preferred. Prefer a minimum 1 year experience in culinary education industry. Knowledgeable of all school and company policies and procedures, all applicable federal, state regulations and all accrediting agencies’ standards and requirements relating to student services. Knowledge of culinary industry and employment opportunities. Dependable, organized, detail oriented and priority-driven. Prior leadership experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with students, parents, faculty, and staff to resolve student concerns, challenges, and obstacles. Experience developing and implementing workshops. Fundamental understanding of computer applications and reports. Adaptable and able to work with a sense of urgency.
