Business Office Clerk/Bookkeeper

Qualifications: At least three years of successful experience in school district accounting and/or bookkeeping preferred Broad general knowledge of office and administrative procedures and functions General working understanding of education administration, rules, regulations and ethics Excellent commmincation skills both written and oral, and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with others Knowledge of PC operating systems preferred Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other software preferred Demonstrated experience in the use of office technology, including computers, fax, e-mail, duplicating machines and other office equipment

Essential Job Functions: Performing all bookkeeping functions Maintains a daily record of cash by fund, and accounts for all cash receipts within the district, and insures that any interest accrued is credited to the proper fund Assist in the peparing of monthly and yearly financial reports and in the development of the Annual District Budget for the Board of Education and State Board of Education Assist in the preparation and distribution of the annual 1099 tax returns Acts as backup for payroll in reconciling the monthly financial reports and the township treasurer's report Maintains student activity accounts Assists in the coordination and preparation of the Special Education billing Process all Lunch and Tuition Waiver applications and maintains files Lunch program verification Student transportation by planning, preparing bus applications, registering, routing and issuing bus passes and receipts Performs such other tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
