If you are an experienced instructor/chef with a passion for baking then do not pass on this opportunity to become a Baking and Pastry Chef/Instructor with Kitchen Academy - Seattle. Kitchen Academy is a professional culinary school where students learn the skills they need to succeed in today's professional cooking environment. With locations in Sacramento, California and a new campus in Seattle, Washington, this comprehensive culinary program offers 100% kitchen training, no classroom. The Kitchen Academy is a part of the Career Education Corporation family offering high quality education to a diverse population of approximately 90,000 students across the world in a variety of career-oriented disciplines. The more than 75 campuses that serve these students are located throughout the U.S. and in France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and offer doctoral, master's, bachelor's, and associate degrees and diploma and certificate programs. Designed by chefs, this new culinary arts school curriculum offers an immersive concept in culinary training delivering hands-on cooking experience and plenty of it. The strongest candidate will be ready to take responsibility for providing high quality academic and lab instruction while following the subject curriculum to ensure and create a consistent education for every student. The Chef is also responsible for not only ensuring the students can perform but also comprehend and retain the information and practical techniques covered. We are looking for someone with a minimum of five years Chef or related management experience, one year teaching experience or previous Teacher Assistant/Associate Instructor position at a Culinary School, and a minimum of an Associate Occupational Science Degree, ideally in the discipline. Candidates must possess the leadership, communication skills and technical ability to relay information to students in a manner that provides a positive learning experience and instills a passion for the profession as a whole.
