Associate Dean for Academic Affairs
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences at Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts invites applications for the position of Associate Dean of Academic Affairs. Reporting to the Dean, the Associate Dean responsibilities include planning and implementing academic policies, procedures and systems; managing faculty personnel procedures; and coordinating curriculum issues and faculty development initiatives across the School.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:
The Associate Dean will be expected to hold a terminal degree in the arts, social sciences or a related field, and to have had significant experience in higher education. A background of postsecondary level teaching and administration is important, as is evidence of current scholarly and professional activity. The Associate Dean should have strong administrative and interpersonal skills; the ability and desire to work in collaboration with faculty, administrators, staff and students; and a strong, demonstrated commitment to diversity. Experience with masters and doctoral students, with a variety of educational delivery systems, and with college/school/community partnerships, is strongly desired.
