Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Department of Education at Wellesley College seeks candidates for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin August, 2009. Responsibilities include teaching four courses a year: one on education policy and three on related topics, such as urban education; a specific aspect of education policy; school reform; curriculum studies; bilingual education; research methods; diversity, race, class, and gender in education; or teacher education. Faculty in the Department of Education do research and approach their teaching within a variety of disciplinary and methodological frameworks. Courses in the Department of Education are integral to the College's undergraduate liberal arts curriculum and serve students who plan to continue in an area of education as well as those who do not. The Department offers a Teacher Education minor and an Education Studies minor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates should have a doctorate and research focus in education policy and/or urban education, with some K-12 teaching experience preferred.
