Job Description

                                                           

 

Job Title: Assistant Director

Reports To: President

Salary: Commensurate with experience

 

Summary Plans, organizes, and directs ongoing and special project funding programs for institution by performing the following:

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Development  - 30%

 

§         Researches public and private grant agencies, foundations, and individual contributors to identify potential sources of funding for programs.

 

§          Plans and coordinates fundraising campaigns for special events such as golf tournaments, banquets, or auctions.

 

§         Develops donor recognition program.

 

§         Organizes direct mail campaign to reach potential contributors.

 

Contracts & Grants - 30%

 

§         Develops and submits grant proposals for funds from private foundations, corporations, and government agencies.

 

§         Compiles, finalizes and submits all required documentation and reports to National Council on Economic Education to satisfy grant requirements.

 

§         Submits interim and final reports to funders.

 

 

Administration - 20%

 

§         Prepares strategic plan with short- and long-range goals to meet institutional funding objectives, and enlists support from members of institution staff, the governing body, and volunteer organizations.

 

§         Assists with the preparation and submittal of annual budget along with quarterly budget vs actual reports.

 

§         Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining records of contributors and grants and preparing letters of appreciation to be sent to contributors.

 

Technology - 15%

 

§         Maintains and/or coordinates changes to organization's web page 

 

§         Coordinates production and electronic distribution of semi-monthly newsletter.

 

§         Maintains electronic database of potential donors and program participants.

 

§         Assists as needed to meet the technology needs of workshops and presentations.

 

Other - 5%

 

§         Develops public relations materials to enhance institution image and promote fund raising program.

 

§         Acts as liaison between council and national organizations and local businesses.

Education and/or Experience                                                

 

Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Computer Skills                                             





 

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in MS Excel & Word (required) and have basic knowledge and understanding of QuickBooks accounting software (recommended).
