Assistant Campus Nursing Director

Everest College - Ontario Metro, CA campus Req #: 08-1021Summary: The Assistant Campus Nursing Director reports to the Campus Nursing Director of the Associate Degree Nursing Program. Twenty-percent time allocation will be used for administrative purposes each week unless the ACND has to assume the duties of the CND at which time the time allocation will be 100% as is designated for the CND position. The incumbent will assume program responsibilities in the absence of the Campus Nursing Director so therefore must be familiar and able to carry out the requirements of the Campus Nursing Director position. General Duties: The Assistant Campus Nursing Director, as a clinician/educator understands, and is able to convey to students the duties of their future role as a Registered Nurse. The ACND will supervise instructors in the classroom and clinical areas as assigned by the CND. The ACND will be expected to plan and present theory in the classroom and plan, supervise and instruct students during on-campus labs and clinical experiences, maintain office hours for student advisement, and participate in department meetings. Additional responsibilities include assisting with the coordination of student recruitment, admission, retention, remediation and completion activities, preparing for initial program implementation and accreditation, and participating with other college faculty on designated academic committees. Works cooperatively with the Campus Nursing Director to adhere to national, state and local regulatory rules and standards.  Requirements: Master?s or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education or administration. Minimum of two years? experience teaching in pre-or post-licensure nursing programs (ADN, BSN or higher). Minimum of one year experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
