George Mason University, Information Technology Unit, Database Applications Services Group (DAS) in Fairfax, Virginia, is looking for an Applications Analyst to work on our core administrative systems team.

Do you like to work with customers to define their needs and develop requirements? Are you good at solving technical problems and assisting others on the team to do the same?
Have you got solid experience in?
- Oracle Forms;
- PL/SQL, SQL;
- HTML; and
- General Web publishing techniques.

If you have these skills and abilities, we'd like to talk to you.

We are also very interested if you have:
- Experience with SunGard Higher Education's Banner software suite;
- Experience in Banner Self-Service applications programming; and
- The ability to troubleshoot Pro*C.

Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask are required. Incumbent must be able to work on multiple projects and tasks with team members under limited supervision. Excellent testing skills are a must.

What would you do?
As an Applications Analyst, you would:
- Meet with customers in Finance, HR/Payroll, Financial Aid, Admissions or the Registrar's office to understand, refine or document their requirements for enhancements or changes. We are looking for a person who has excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and who has the ability to analyze and resolve problems quickly.
- You would also code and test solutions, working independently and with others, show initiative by working with others when needed to resolve a tough problem, and develop new ideas for ways to further help our clients.
- This key role requires a strong analytical background, attention to detail and the ability to provide creative solutions by working with the DAS teams and clients towards a predetermined goal following our programming and project management guidelines.
