Animal Care Technician

Responsibilities
Provide husbandry and care to laboratory animals, maintain animal inventory records and Animal Husbandry and Room Maintenance Records and perform facility sanitation in DLAMs Animal Facilities. This person is required to complete assigned work schedules with little to no supervision. The technician should be able to work independently and make correct decisions in the daily routine. This position requires weekend and holiday work hours. The position involves daily exposure to laboratory animals and their waste products. Technicians must be able to perform all physical aspects required of position, including periodically lifting items up to 50 lbs and moving racks or large items on wheels.
Qualifications
High school diploma and equivalency degree. A minimum of two years of animal care experience. ALAT certification preferred, but must be obtained within one year of employment.
