Analyst, Business/Project Mgr
Jefferson County Public Schools seeks an Analyst, Business/Project Manager to work in partnership with clients and Information Technology personnel to identify, document and provide recommendations for improving business processes. Collaborate with business administration personnel to analyze and define business processes as well as in business/school needs with a focus on school support or instructional environments. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - Manage business strategy and solution identification process of service delivery projects including: - Develop project plan. - Develop project communication plan. - Develop requirements documents for potential projects. - Based on requirements, research potential solutions (both automated and business process change solutions. - Develop proposals which contrast the solution options, provide cost benefit analysis, ROI and recommendations for process improvements and future goals. - Work collaboratively with customers to develop project success criteria. - Develop project implementation transition plan. - Manage current service performance analysis and prioritize future system needs for school support and instructional customers including. - Regularly monitor and improve customer satisfaction levels. - Reporting of service metrics to customers. - Collaboration in planning and prioritization of current system enhancements and future system development. - Develop and provide progress/status reports. - Work closely with business customers to understand their needs and requirements. - Have or acquire an understanding of current systems to determine if newly request functionality is currently owned by the District or would need to be purchase, developed and/or customized. - Document all business analysis phases and participation. - Perform collaborative business process reviews. - Provide recommendations for change based on the process review. - Conduct pilot projects as necessary to prove or disprove concepts. - Perform other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE 10+ years experience in positions requiring business analysis functions, 8 years experience in working with complex computer systems and either 3 years experience with functional and/or technical ERP systems or 3 years experience in a public sector K-12 environment.. EDUCATION AND TRAINING Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Business, or related degree. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS None required. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Excellent written and verbal communication skills to document analysis findings; writing process improvements, implementation, and cost analysis; deliver sensitive data to all levels; and skills in interpersonal communications to provide consulting services. Knowledge of K-12 environment, cycles and practices; and understanding and/or experience in public education concepts. Ability to build relationships with peers, potential customers and District executive management, and maintain these relationships. Work collaboratively and effectively with people of diverse backgrounds; and ability to train /coach users on new/existing systems. Aptitude or skill and experience in business process reengineering techniques and methods; requirements development, with the ability to understand business and technology requirements associated with complex technical projects; development of high-level project plans with accurate projections; skill building data flow and reporting diagrams; and understanding processes following the analysis phase including project planning, scope and risk management, change control processes, development, testing, implementation and quality assurance. Ability to identify needs for project advocacy, and communicate to and engage appropriate stakeholders; and assist with the development of customer acceptance criteria when appropriate. Knowledge of available methodologies and techniques in Software Development LifeCycle and Project Management. Skills is Human Resources management (hiring, coaching, evaluating and directing). Ability to train/coach users on new/existing systems. Basic knowledge of MS Office products required for hire.
