Alumni Communications Editor - St. Paul's School

The Alumni Communications Editor is responsible for gathering, writing, organizing, editing, and distributing news for an audience primarily of St. Paul’s School alumni. Using new and conventional media, this communications professional will develop and maintain connections that allow for increased engagement between alumni and the School and with each other. The Alumni Communications Editor will report to both the Communications Director and the Executive Director of the Alumni Association.

Responsibilities include:
Â
• Serving as editor of the quarterly magazine Alumni Horae, working closely with the Alumni Horae Advisory Board and the Executive Director of the Alumni Association to coordinate all aspects of the magazine.
Â
• Writing and organizing an e-newsletter for alumni.
Â
• Maintaining a lively alumni presence on the St. Paul’s School web site – including alumni portals and the online community, Alumni Association pages, Alumni Horae online, the mentor program, and other e-communications.
• Supporting the Alumni Association in electronic and other communications.
Â
• Providing staff support for alumni communications-related task forces, including the Alumni Horae and E-Communications Advisory Boards.

• Participating in other School communications efforts as necessary.
Â
Minimum qualifications
Â
Five years’ experience in communications and/or publications, with exceptional writing and editing skills. Proven aptitude in learning and enhancing new technologies. Experience in working successfully and flexibly as a collaborative team member.
Â
Additional desired qualifications
Â
Professional experience in an educational setting, possibly as editor of an alumni magazine. Proficiency with photography and PhotoShop.
Â
This position is anticipated to start in September.
