Job Description:ACADEMIC ADVISOR

Reporting to: Associate Dean of Student Services

Position type: Exempt

Location:  Orchard Park, NY

 

The primary focus of this position is to meet the academic advising and retention needs of the students enrolled in Online Programs and to coordinate activities that include registration, retention, recruitment and basic technical guidance. 

 

Responsibilities:Actively manage AOS programs to include orientation, scheduling, registration, retention and SAP activities.Work within a total campus effort, preparing students for a lifetime of learning.Participate in workshops using online facilitation and teaching pedagogy. Former Student Returning (FSR) recruitmentAcademic reporting via SCT Banner and MSOfficeMaintain accurate academic filesParticipates with other staff members in the planning, directing and monitoring of special campus projects.Actively participate in system-wide and campus committee’s and meetings.Conduct surveys and related feedback processes and effectively analyze and disseminate data to assist associates and departments in fulfilling reasonable student needs.Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree required.  Masters preferred.  Experience in higher education a plus.

 

Work Hours:

Due to varying time zones of online students, two evenings and rotating Saturdays required.
