Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Job Summary:

 

The Vice President of Sales & Marketing provides direction and leadership of the company’s Sales and Marketing efforts by training and developing staff personnel, hiring sales representatives, and monitoring and analyzing performance of the Sales staff against stated goals. The Vice President of Sales & Marketing is also responsible for servicing and growing major and national accounts.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 Hire, train and develop Sales team to meet company Sales goals and product objectives.Develops long-term Sales & Marketing strategic goals.Develops/maintains annual Sales & Marketing Budgets.Develop techniques to effectively monitor Sales team performance to ensure adherence to Sales methods and progress toward stated goals.Services and grow national and other critical company accounts.Analyze sales and marketing strategy and suggest improvements and/or modifications. Monitor same for effectiveness. Develops/recommends product positioning, packaging and pricing strategies, based on solid market research, analysis of competition, etc., to ensure continued growth of market share and customer satisfaction. Develop new/updated sales materials, promotions, etc. to enhance the overall Sales effort. Oversees all advertising & promotional programs.Attend industry trade shows, trade association gatherings, etc.,  as part of the company’s overall Marketing efforts. Establishes/maintains professional relationships with key strategic partners.Analyze Sales objectives; assign/re-assign territories and/or quotas as necessary to meet these objectives. Manage the Sales database: monitor productivity, assign leads, track individual sales to closing, etc.Other projects/activities as assigned

 

Educational/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field. Strong PC skills: current PC Office suite, as well as working knowledge of ACT or similar sales tracking program. Minimum experience: 10 years, in progressively more responsible sales management positions. Experience in the food industry highly desirable.
