VP Business Development
Job Description ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:This position is critically important to growth strategy of this top cosmetics company. It requires strong leadership, a true entrepreneurial spirit, and an aggressive go-getter attitude with unwavering initiative. The VP of Business Development manages the domestic and international sales activities. According to the business development goals and objectives. Significantly develops new incremental and profitable business through new customers and distribution channels. As part of the company’s overall strategy, the VP would participate heavily in drawing the business strategy by creating long and short term business plans and budgets. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:• Assure the achievement of the business development plan objectives, through regular quarterly meetings, constant assistance and proactive relationships with all existing and potential customers. • Define the correct execution of annual sales and marketing plans in order to grant promotion and development of the business (annual sales forecast, commercial and marketing strategies, price definitions, new customer acquisitions, new distribution channels, etc.).• Attend global and internal meetings for defining and executing common activities and strategies and monitoring global opportunities and competition.• Analysis of competitor activity and strategy to help direct our response and strategy.• New product concept development and business case development for new products.• Planning and implementing new product launches from introduction to distribution.• Work with marketing to develop support materials, build awareness campaigns and product (application) sampling.• Develop and maintain contact with secondary customers’ channel partners such as cosmetics development firms and marketers/innovators who primarily increase awareness and influence the purchase of products by our direct customers. REQUIRED SKILLS:The ideal candidate will possess at least 15 years work experience within the cosmetics beauty industry. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams, make presentations and initiate contact with new prospects, business partners and all levels of management. Must have proven, positive track record for winning new business. Must be successful at establishing and maintaining superior contacts and business relationships within the industry. Must demonstrate strong services and product related expertise, knowledge of the market/industry segment including suppliers and competitors. Understands business drivers within the industry and emerging trends in the marketplace. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products.
