Transportation Manager

USX is seeking a transportation manager to be responsible for managing and developing business for assigned customers and clients. The right candidate will be responsible for managing and handling all matters related to the customer’s and clients accounts working from the customer’s onsite location.

 

Major responsibilities will include executing a designed supply chain solution custom tailored to customer needs, managing on site staff that runs customer supply chain operations and interfacing with the customer to develop and execute transportation plans.

 

Other responsibilities will include:Load planning to optimize freight assignmentsDetermining the optimal use of equipmentDeveloping strategies to lower transportation costsImproving supply chain operationsProactively addressing customer needs by developing creative transportation solutionsRecommending operations improvements in relating to the customer account  Authority to make meaningful decisions on customer account

Key Knowledge and Experience

·  High Diploma Required, additional experience equivalent to a two year degree.

·  2-5 years related work experience preferred

·  Superior analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

·  Strong problem solving and innovative thinking skills.

·  Knowledge of DOT regulations impacting daily operations beneficial

·  Proficient in MS Word and Excel

·  Strategic thinker with proven leadership skills.
