Trade Category Analyst

SUMMARY
Assist in the development and implementation of customer/channel specific category plans based on category and shopper insights to grow market share within category.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

CATEGORY PLANNING
• Support in the elaboration of the annual category plans and quarter revisions for assortment, shelf-layout, and promotional strategy and price positions, focusing in the targeted shopper.
• Aid the development of brand standards (brand DNA) by categories and also focus execution of channel specific brand standards.
• Assist during the annual joint business planning process through data analysis and identification of business opportunities and risks. Support new product introduction for listing.
• Actively participate in development of customer audits: contribute in the development of shopper/customer insights and thumbprint.


CATEGORY MANAGEMENT
• Directly work on category management assignments throughout key customers and apply strong analytics to support customer’s category strategy and profitable growth.
• Give support to the development of account specific category and shopper insights. Assist in the development of local shopper insight studies and aid in the translation of business opportunities within specific customers/channels.


PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
• Measure and review channel/customers category performance.
• Monitor price point range and retail margin are being executed across channels.
• Assist Trade Category Manager and sales teams in analyzing retail margins and pricing gaps and provide feedback to Brand Building.
• Monitor performance of promotional strategy and validate if it is in line with customer’s activation plan.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in related field
• Minimum two years relevant trade category management experience
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Must be fully bilingual (Spanish/English)
• Knowledge and use of Prospace Space Management Software is a must
• Retail Link expertise and analyst is a must
• One year brand building experience is an advantage
• One year customer facing, account management experience is an advantage
• Proven record of drive and initiative with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
