Sr. R&D Formulating Chemist - Cosmetic

Kelly Scientific has an immediate need for a Sr. Formulations Chemist for a cosmetic company.GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Formulate and prepare products based on Lab Work Orders (LWO) assigned by Director and/or Manager. Perform varied multi-task formulation, testing and development of products for various clients.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1.Formulate new products based on product profile.2.Assign work to R&D Techs when needed3.Make daily batches based on LWO assigned by Management. 4.Be able to adjust batches and validate specifications as necessary.5.Know how to prepare ingredient deck listing.6.Maintain housekeeping in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) standards.7.Prepare and document in writing, specifications for various batches.8.Accurately enter formulas into Lab Notebooks and into computer system.9.Perform Stability testing on batches and prepare analysis to management.10.Ability to Color Match batches.11.Flexible and willing to perform other duties as needed. i.e. preparing evaluation and labels.12.Oversee batches throughout manufacturing process. (Monitor Compounding personnel)13.Calibrate Equipment a needed.14.Perform other duties and assignments as instructed by Director and/or Management staff.15.Assist other Lab personnel when needed.16.Research for new ingredients and technology.17.Be able to prepare research studies with data and results.18.Knowledge of compounding, production, regulatory, and quality aspects.PHYSICAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:1.Bachelors of Science Degree preferably in Chemistry and/or Biochemistry.2.Computer Skills.3.Minimum 8 years experience in R&D Cosmetic field.
