Sr. Project Manager, International Requisition Number: 22613BR The Senior Project Manager (SPM) leads cross-functional project teams through Schering-Plough Consumer Health Care’s (CHC) five phase product commercialization process:1. Ideation2. Feasibility3. Development4. Implementation5. Launch Leads, and is accountable for the evaluation, planning and implementation of complex CHC product launches and product change projects. Projects include new product launches generated from the development of new technologies, NDA pre-submissions, licensing and acquisition activities. Assesses project requests from various Strategic Business Units (SBU) and/or International Markets as part of the project approval governance process. Compiles and provides preliminary technical, logistical, cost, timeline, customer service, risk/benefit and other feasibility implications. Ensures that project priority and launch success criterion is clearly defined. Develops detailed project implementation plans, including resource allocation, critical path timelines and risk/contingency options. Ensures project timelines include cross-functional input and decision points. Oversees and ensures alignment of critical workflows within the project plan. Ensures that project activities/timelines for multi-faceted projects (e.g. new product launch, displays, bonus packs, etc.) are integrated. Prioritizes and resolves multiple, conflicting inputs or projects. Leads multi-site commercialization implementation teams and oversees coordination/execution of activities. Collaboratively lead high performing cross-functional teams including: Global and Local Marketing, Research & Development, Global and Local Regulatory, Package Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, Finance, and Logistics. Manages project scope, cost, timing, and quality. Assesses impact of upstream business decision or technical changes/delays on downstream execution deliverables and resolves, proactively, the gaps between functional hand-offs. Ensures that the project is properly staffed with required cross-functional human resources (project team). Manages project communication to business teams, across the organization and to Sr. Management. Assesses and facilitates critical project decisions with business teams and/or sr. management to ensure project priorities are optimized. Manages project financial risk and contingency planning (COG’s, capital, forecast, etc.) Educates new hires in CHC’s integrated commercialization processes. Tracks process metrics and project success criteria. Reports performance measures. Ensures post-launch reviews are conducted. Conducts or facilitates root cause investigations when project or process deviations occur, and identifies resolutions or corrective actions. QualificationsRequirements· BS Degree or BA with minimum 5 years experience in a related technical field. Master's Degree preferred· Minimum 5-8 years project management experience required· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required· Broad business experience in consumer products organization with in-depth exposure to product development, Global Supply Chain/Operations, Research & Development and Marketing· Capable of operating in a dynamic, fast paced, ever changing environment · Requires knowledge of and experience with NDA drug development process and Global Regulatory requirements. · Computer skills, including demonstrated experience with electronic project management, resource management and document workflow tools· Demonstrated core competencies in team leadership/facilitation, decision-making, process management, analytical skills, negotiating and conflict-management skills, risk management, and written and oral communication· Global brand development experience preferred· Ability to effectively communicate with global stakeholders· This position requires modest travel 5-10%Schering-Plough is an equal opportunity employer.
