JOB DESCRIPTION: The role of the Senior Plant PC/LAN Analyst is to provide a single point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within the plant’s computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC and server equipment to ensure optimal performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via e-mail) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required. Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of desktop and server problems for end-users, recommend and implement corrective solutions, and support for remote users as needed. Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end-user workstations and related hardware and software in order to deliver required desktop service levels Where required, administer and resolve issues with associated end-user workstation software products Provide all telecommunications support as needed Provide training and support to end users and staff on computer operation and other issues as needed Construct, install, and test customized configurations based on various platforms and operating systems Install, configure, test, maintain and troubleshoot Windows 2K3 and/or Linux servers, related hardware and software Monitor and analyze network performance on the LAN Ensure network and IP connectivity of all workstations, application servers, and back-end office infrastructure Administer all equipment hardware and software upgrades. Recommend, schedule, and perform all network improvements upgrades, and repairs Maintain network design and provide for capacity planning Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rightsJOB QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate must possess a minimum of a BS in MIS/CIS or related field is required MCP/MCSE Certification is desired. 3 years or more experience with hardware and operating system support in an Enterprise Environment Strong technical knowledge of network and PC hardware Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience Knowledge of operating systems which include Windows 2003 and XP Strong working knowledge of Active Directory in an Enterprise Environment. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Server Suite (SMS, MOM, SQL Server, IIS/Sharepoint) Knowledge of Virtual Computing Environments (VM Ware or Microsoft Hyper-V) Advanced Knowledge of office suites which include Microsoft Office 2000, 2003, 2007 Knowledge of TCP/IP, Lotus Notes, and LAN/WAN technologies is required – i.e. VOIP, MPLS, routing and switching protocols.
