JOB DESCRIPTION: The Sr. Manager, BFG & CHC Network Services and Communications role is to plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of network systems to ensure the stable operation of both divisions’ IT assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. This position will also schedule, support and direct the activities of a skilled technical team for the two divisions to resolve end user network related problems in a timely and accurate fashion. In addition, this position will be in charge of BFG & CHC Voice and Telecommunications systems. Responsibilities include: Coordinating activities relating to telephone system design, local area and wide area network, communications’ hardware/software installation, maintenance and upgrades for various departments within the divisions and/or plant locations. This position will oversee the design, setup and upgrades of all Time & Attendance hardware/software for both divisions. This position will also manage activities of direct reports in the communications field, as well as dealing with vendors and keeping strong working relationship with corporate communications and Time & Attendance teams. Job duties:Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including LANs, WANs, Internet, intranet, remote access, security, wireless implementations, and so on. Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements. Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure. Manage and ensure effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, file, print, application, and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software. Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, and so on. Manage and ensure effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems. Develop and plan for a managerial succession plan. Lead staff meetings on regular basis to inform team of business activities, and plan for on-going work and projects Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of IT systems, including networks, data centers, servers, operating systems, and associated hardware. Assist with the planning and deployment of infrastructure security measures. Plan, acquire, and coordinate installation of in-house and remote hardware and software across the organization’s network. Oversee all reports and documentation related to network and systems operations. Develop maintenance schedules for network and systems equipment. Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and development efforts. Direct and administrate a contingent of network analysts where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action. Provide assistance and guidance to systems engineers at remote locations for both divisions Manage a growing centralized Windows 2003 Active Directory including all network services. Provide onsite assessments and develop conversion plans for acquisitions and other locations that will be migrated to the Ralcorp network. Analyze existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the network infrastructure and IT systems. Provide recommendations on the design and implementation of a flexible WAN topology that will provide for redundancy to core business services. Configure and maintain data storage needs for the corporate environment via storage area network. Design and implement a Disaster Recovery plan for in-house business services. Develop and manage network services and communication annual budget for both division Design and support telecommunications infrastructure and its associated software, including PBXs, call management systems, voice mail, interactive voice response, and video conferencing systems according to specifications, standards, and procedures Integrate these systems with LANs, WANs, wireless LANs, and Internet-based services and protocols Design and oversee telecommunications projects with a goal to improving or expanding the current infrastructure Configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user telecommunications hardware, telephony devices, and voice/data hardware products Prepare telecommunications budget recommendations Interact and negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure communications products and services in a timely and professional mannerJOB QUALIFICATIONS: B.S. in MIS/CIS or equivalent in Information Technology required MCP/MCSE/CCNA/CCIE Certification is desired. 5-7 years experience with personal computing with strong emphasis on hardware and operating system support in an Enterprise Environment. 2-3 years of project management and supervisory experience required. 3-5 years experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc. Knowledge of Active Directory a must in an enterprise environment. Knowledge of Virtual Computing Environment. (VMWare or MSFT HyperV) Advanced Knowledge of office suites which include Microsoft Office 2000, 2003, 2007 Knowledge of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN technologies is required – i.e. Ethernet topologies, MPLS, routing and switching protocols. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Server Suite (SMS, MOM, SQL Server, IIS/Sharepoint) Able to conduct research into networking issues and products as required. Working knowledge of video conference technologies. Exceptional technical knowledge of enterprise network operating systems and client devices. Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on. Excellent knowledge of current IT infrastructure standards. Knowledge of business functionality in Time & Attendance is desired. Knowledge of Ceridian and HR systems/processes preferred.
