Residing within the Continuous Improvement group, the Operations Engineer will play a highly visible role in delivering cost savings, product improvements, and process improvements, as well as, service, quality, and safety enhancements.   The primary focus of this position is not at the plant-level, but rather, working closely with Marketing, Manufacturing, Finance and Operations to find creative solutions to bringing new products to market at the right price and improving existing product quality and profitability through financial and operations analysis.  This is a position that will involve a strong foundation in "number crunching" coupled with a deep understanding of manufacturing operations and continuous improvement principals.  The ability to communicate across multiple business units with all levels of management is paramount.          With minimal supervision, assume responsibility for undertaking and executing projects of varied scope and complexity, often acting as liaison between Operations & Sales/Marketing. May utilize prescribed procedures to plan and conduct operational studies in manufacturing plants (waste, rework, downtime, labor), cost and capacity analyses to determine the best manufacturing source for products, standard cost development, and analytical support to project teams.   - Participates in the formulation, evaluation, strategy setting, and presentation of product and process solution alternatives (i.e., product offerings, and the manufacturing solutions). - Assists in the development of product line standard cost estimates for business case evaluation. - Demonstrates and develops operational experience to understand and ultimately provide robust process solutions. - Develops facility specific capital projects through completion and serves as a project leader during capital project development and approval. - Analyzes operational problems, identifies probable root causes, and recommends solutions.   Education: B.S.
