This is definitely the "number crunching" job in the Department working in the Trade area of Marketing. This person will take reports generated by a more junior person and then "make sense out of it, put it into a format whereby the data can be communicated to others in the organization, and also provide industry insights into trends, etc.". This person will also be forward looking and will forecast trends based on the data. They will also help in evaluating pricing and promotional strategies...again based on empirical data from the industry ( experience with Nielsen, IRI, etc. is a must). This position does not have any direct reports.
